Arts events in Fulbourn Cambridgeshire
We would like to invite people to join us for our Open Day on 15th July at Headway Cambridgeshire. We will hold an exhibition of art made by those with a brain injury as well as opening up our therapy garden for people to enjoy.
Join us on the day for a BBQ, bouncy castle, cake stalls, a treasure hunt and bushcraft sessions.
Headway Cambridgeshire is a charity that support people with a brain injury and those who care for them. We run a weekly timetable of rehabilitation activities from our Hubs in Fulbourn and Peterborough. They are places to work, learn, explore, enjoy and recover.
Art sessions such as animation, art, drama and singing are a core part of the timetable. People with long term neurological conditions face many complex challenges in attempting to live as they would wish. Our art sessions are designed to provide a way to explore and think about these. With a focus on discussion and peer support we use our art to communicate our ideas and make both personal and political statements about our experiences.
As well as giving our clients a voice we also work towards improving cognitive skills through long term projects that focus on promoting memory, decision making, exploration, safe risk taking and planning. Art making gives us a way to express our creativity and we hope to be able to share our work with others in our community during our Open Day.
